Edith Basile, 90 of California, PA passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 in Washington Premier Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

She was born July 2, 1934 in Greene County a daughter of the late Robert and Pearl Settle Tate.

Mrs. Basile was a member of the California United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

A homemaker,  Edith enjoyed decorating for the holidays, watching Pirates baseball, her cats and fishing in her younger years.

Surviving are her son Russell Basile (Maria) of California, PA; two siblings, Grace Booth of Stoney Pine, Pa and Donald Tate of Carmichaels, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, Matthew Basile; a son William Basile; several brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received Thursday from 3 to 7 PM in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA where funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 at 11 AM with Pastor Heather Wakefield officiating. Interment will be private in Taylor cemetery.
