Douglas Alan Higinbotham, 60 of Chapel Hill, N.C. formerly of Washington, Pa. died August 19, 2021 following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 5, 1961 in Washington, Pa. a son of Eleanor Hart VanDyke and the late Clarence Higinbotham.

Mr. Higinbotham was a 1979 graduate of Beth-Center High School. He was a steelworker employed by Allegheny Technologies Inc., formerly Allegheny Ludlum in the Washington millworks for over 19 years.

He was a lifelong member of the Richeyville V.F.C. and also a member of the Red Knights motorcycle club.

Mr. Higinbotham enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, NASCAR, participating in fundraisers and was a motorcycle enthusiast.

On June 6, 1998 he married Susan Chadwick Higinbotham who survives.

Also surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two daughters, Randi Ruela (Thales), Erica Higinbotham, one son Ryan Higinbotham, two brothers, Scott and Jeff (Julie) Higinbotham, one sister, Sheryl Vito (Clete) and one granddaughter Amelia Ruela.

Friends will be received Saturday August 28, 2001 from 10:00am until 1:00pm the hour of services in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St. Beallsville.
