Donald C. Smith, 90 of Belle Vernon, PA (formerly of Fredericktown) passed away Thursday June 27, 2024 in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital.

He was born August 2, 1933 in Centerville, PA a son of the late Fred J. and Helen Dwyer Smith.

After his 1951 graduation from Centerville High School he entered the U.S. Army  serving as a medic from 1953 to 1955.

He was employed for 40 years at F.J. Smith Painting Co.

Donald was a member of the Centerville American Legion.

Mr. Smith sang in the Barbershop Quartet with both the Washington and South Hills Chapters. He also sang in a country band in his later years. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his daughter in law Marcia Smith who was married to Donald's late son Ronald Smith who passed August 14, 2023; three sisters, Carol Santi of California, PA, Sharon Reece of Centerville, PA and Linda Raleigh (Richard) of Washington, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to his son are his wife Sarah "Sally" Smith who died October 24, 1993; four siblings, Shirley Fisher, Wilbur, Ralph and Jay Smith (Joy Smith who survives).

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 from 2 to 4 PM in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA. The Centerville American Legion Post #705 will conduct a service for Donny beginning at 3 PM. Private interment will be in Greene County Memorial Park.
