Donald Richard "Dick" Elliott, 94 of Washington, PA passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born in Washington, PA September 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Donald Post and Zelma Sowers Elliott.
He is survived by his wife Bernice, married October 2, 1951; a son Ronald K. Elliott and granddaughter Paige Alexander both of Nashville, TN.
Mr. Elliott was a graduate of Trinity High School, class of 1948 and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany. He achieved the rank of S.F.C.
He was employed by Bell of PA (Verizon). Working in various PA locations, he lived in Youngstown, PA for a period of time with offices in Latrobe, Ligonier and Derry. He returned to the Pittsburgh area and was on staff in downtown Pittsburgh for several years, then was Central Office Foreman at Coraopolis, Sewickley and Ambridge. Returning to Washington, he retired as Supervising Office Foreman.
Dick was a lifetime member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, having served for many years on Church Council.
Mr. Elliott had been a member of F&AM Washington Lodge #164 for over 50 years. He was also a member of York Rite Bodies, Wash. Royal Arch Chapter #150, Jacques De Molay Commandry No. 3 Wash. Council No.1.
As a life member of Wa Cha Gree Forest #149 he served as Grand Tall Cedar, Supreme Forest District Deputy of District 19. He was also a member of Syria Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. Shrine of Pittsburgh.
After retiring he purchased a recreational vehicle and he and his wife spent several years traveling most of the U.S. Winters were spent in Dover, FL. They also enjoyed Alaska, Hawaii and Germany.
Also surviving are a sister, Ruth Swart of Washington, PA; a brother, John Elliott of Dunbar, PA; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son , Richard Elliott who died January 13, 2024; two sisters, Jean Guga and Lois Conkle.
Friends will be received Monday, June 30, 2025 from 3 to 7 PM in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, 336 Wilson Ave. Washington, PA. There will be an additional visitation Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 10 to 11 AM, the time of Funeral Services, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 21 Church Rd, Scenery Hill, PA with Pastor William B. Henry Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. All funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA.
