Dolores H. Messer, 97 of Fredericktown, PA (Centerville Borough) passed away April 7, 2024 in her home with her family by her side.

She was born June 29, 1926 in McKees Rocks, PA a daughter of the late Adolf and Helen Watson Sonnett.

A homemaker, Dolores also volunteered at the Brownsville Hospital for over 25 years.

Mrs. Messer was a woman of strong faith and  was a member of the California Calvary Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Messer enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting, embroidery and sewing.

On August 14, 1948 she married George Messer who died July 25, 2006.

Surviving are three children, Ray Messer (Nancy) of Cincinnati, OH, Robert Messer of Centerville, PA, and Debra Vaughn of Hickory, NC; six grandchildren, April Perston of Baldwin, PA, Robert Shawn Messer (Kristine Behrens-Messer of Fredericktown, PA, Keara Welsh (Robert) of Washington, PA, Christopher Messer (Hannah Fordin) of New Paltz, Samantha Messer (Oleg) of Cincinnati, OH, and Savannah Vaughn of Silver Springs, MD; four great grandchildren, Braedon Welsh, Brooklynn Welsh, Allison Derrick (Richie) of Baldwin, PA and Elizabeth Perston; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Thursday from 3 to 7 PM in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd. 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA where Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11 AM with Pastor Rodney Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Westland Cemetery.
