Delores I.
Jones Meredith
Dec 11, 1949 — Jul 26, 2022
Delores I. (Jones) Meredith "Dee or DJ", 72 of Canonsburg (formerly of Ellsworth) sadly left us on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was surrounded by love in her passing.
Dee was born on December 11, 1949, in Waynesburg, and was the daughter of the late Jack and Marion Jones.
In 1967 she graduated from Bentworth High School, and instantly traveled to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI as a secretary. She then returned home to work as a manager at GC Murphy Company in Washington, PA. Over the years, Dee also worked as a preschool teacher, childcare provider, and homemaker. Working with children brought her the most joy, as did spending time with her grandchildren. She was always active in the community, serving in a variety of volunteer roles such as a Girl Scout Leader, PTA member, and recently a resident advocate at Townview.
Dee was a member of the Bentleyville United Methodist Church. Devout in her faith and with a love for fellowship, she was an active member and former officer of the United Methodist Women, a Sunday School teacher, and volunteer for youth activities such as Vacation Bible School.
She was a wonderful mother and surviving are her daughters, Lisa (Allen) Eimer and Lori (Judd) Ashby. She is also survived by three grandchildren who were the light of her life, Tara Eimer, Meredith and Corbin Ashby; and two brothers Donald (Iva) Jones and David (Barb) Jones. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and so many friends.
Dee had the gift of finding the best in everyone and there isn't a person she met that didn't become her friend. She was an unofficial "mayor" at her last two residences and made sure to keep everyone up to date with current events (especially if you didn't watch the news). She had a great sense of humor and the biggest heart. She always put others before herself, right up to the end. Dee will be sadly missed by all who knew her but will forever live in our hearts.
Family and friends will be received for a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA from 2-6 pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 6 pm with Pastor Andrew Flower officiating. A private burial will be held on August 3, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Dee's memory to Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center or to the Bentleyville United Methodist Church.
