David Conard Black, 82, of Washington passed away on May 21, 2025 in Canonsburg Hospital.

He was born January 23, 1943 in Brownsville PA, a son of the late Albert and Ella Wilyard Black.

Mr. Black was a 1961 graduate of Brownsville High School and was employed at Columbia Gas in Speers, PA holding various positions including leak inspector, welder and meter reader retiring in 2000 with 37 years of service.    He was also employed as a security guard at The Meadows for 32 years retiring in 2006.

David was a longtime member of the Daisytown United Presbyterian Church.

An avid Penn State and Steelers fan he also enjoyed being outdoors and all things related to cars.

On June 20, 1964 he married his wife Betty Jane Debreczeni Black who survives.  They celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, David A. Black (Dr. Terrie) of Mars, PA; and Dr.
Douglas K. Black (Helena) of Sarasota, Fl;  two siblings, a brother Jim Black (Gayle) of Seaford, DE and a sister Eadi Zetty (Harry) of Brownsville, PA. along with several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two sisters Marian Lyons and Joyce Black.

Family and friends will be received Thursday,  May 29  from 2 to 7 pm and again on Friday May 30, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. There will a service at 11:00 am in the John B. Greenlee  Funeral Home Ltd.   2830 Main St.  Beallsville, PA.   Interment will follow in Maple Creek Cemetery.
