Darrell J. Molinari, 79, of Charleroi, PA (Fallowfield Twp.) passed away at home with his wife by his side on April 29, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness.

He was born in Charleroi, PA on December 3, 1946, a son of the late James and Lillian Melosi Molinari.   A 1964 graduate of Charleroi High School, he later received a bachelor's degree in athletic training from the California University of Pennsylvania.

Darrell worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for over 12 years at NOVA Care and was a Certified EMT at Mon Valley Ambulance.  He also taught CPR and first aid as well as proper use of AED for the American Heart Association for over 25 years.

Above all, he was a proud U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam conflict and was awarded the National Defense Service Award, Vietnam Service Award, RVNMUC Gallantry Cross, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation for his service.   He also enjoyed hunting and collecting guns.  He was a member of the Charleroi American Legion Post 22, and an Eagle Scout of the Charleroi Troop.

On July 24, 2004, he married his wife Cathleen Molinari who survives.  Surviving in addition to his wife are stepson Gerald "Jerry" Clark II of Virginia Beach, VA.

Preceding him in death is his son Drew J. Molinari who died May 11, 2015.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday May 5, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA.  The 25th District of the Pennsylvania American Legion will conduct a ceremony beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home followed by a funeral service and celebration of Darrell's life.  Inurnment will be held at a later time in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies where military honors will be accorded.
