Obituary

Carole Oswald Mucho, 81, of Washington passed peacefully away Tuesday, October1, 2024 with her husband, Tom, and son, Paul, by her side at Presbyterian SeniorCare – Woodside Place, Washington.

Carole was born in Charleroi August 23, 1942, the daughter of the late John and Mary Ann "Mae" Pawluk Oswald of Richeyville.

Carole was a longtime, dedicated teacher in the Bentworth School District.  She began her career at Nichol's School, later moving to Cokeburg School and finally to  Bentleyville Elementary School, teaching grades 2nd through 4th.  She was proud of the success she had teaching these young children.

Carole was always happy when shopping and enjoyed tinkering with the house décor, but friends and, especially, spending time with family was her greatest joy.

Surviving are her devoted husband Thomas Mucho (Washington); beloved son Paul and family, wife Dawn and grandchildren Owen and Ava Mucho (Upper St. Clair); her caring sister Patricia Bowen Gellner (Wheeling); nieces Teri Ernest (Wheeling) and Susan (Todd) Evans (Sarasota, Fl); several grandnieces and a grandnephew; as well as a great grandnephew and niece.  Also surviving are sisters-in-law Janet (Wallace) Sherbon (Birmingham, AL), Cathy (Joseph) Sistek (Meadowbrook); and brothers-in-law George (Karen) Mucho (Washington), Jack (Clare) Mucho (Centerville), Dave (Wendy) Mucho Richeyville), and Dan Mucho (Brownsville).

Deceased in addition to her parents are sister-in-law Linda Ann Mucho and brothers-in-law Dave Bowen and Carl (Bob) Gellner.

The family would like to especially thank the staff of Presbyterian SeniorCare- Woodside Place for the compassionate care shown Carole during the last years of her life and Gateway Hospice during her final days.

All services are private and under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd. Beallsville.  Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Presbyterian SeniorCare – Woodside Place, 954 Redstone Rd. Washington, PA 15301.
