Bruno "Chip"
Bogdewic
Jul 16, 1952 — Sep 5, 2024
Bruno L. "Chip" Bogdewic, 72 of Beallsville, PA passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024 in Concordia Hospice Donnell House Washington, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 16, 1952 in Washington, PA a son of the late Bruno and Marge Zamiska Bogdewic.
Chip was a 1970 graduate of Mon Valley Catholic High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology at Wheeling Jesuit University. After 54 years Chip remained exceptionally good friends with and was active and involved with the members of his graduating class from Mon Valley, where they remained Spartan strong.
He was employed at and later became owner and operator of the family business, B. Bogdewic Chevrolet in Bentleyville, PA and Bogdewic Chrysler-Plymouth Webster for a total of 53 years.
On June 5, 1978 he married Patricia Dinco Bogdewic who survives. They celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Mr. Bogdewic attended Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, PA and also frequently attended Impact Christian Church in Moon Twp. He was devout in his faith. He was also a member of the Nemacolin Country Club for 30 years, the Knights of Columbus Counsil #5826, the Washington Elks and Cokeburg Moose # 1625.
Chip's various interests and hobbies included golfing, fishing, dancing with his PT Cruisers dancing club at Mariner Hall in Dunlevy, traveling including fishing trips to Canada and Florida and vacationing in Myrtle Beach. He was very community oriented and volunteered extensively. He was known as an all-around "great guy." He was always full of life and energy, smiling and making jokes. He made fun times even more fun which in turn created fond memories. Safe to say that with his great sense of humor he was always the life of the party. His ornery smile and the "twinkle" in his eyes always made it look like he was up to something. He will be sorely missed.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are three children, Ryan Bogdewic of Myrtle Beach, SC, Chad Bogdewic (Patricia) of Moon Twp., Pa and Hannah Bogdewic of Beallsville, PA; four grandchildren, Shelby, Elizabeth, Ellie, and Jonathan; one great grandchild, Kennedy; two siblings, Dr. Thomas Bogdewic (Mary Ann) of Sewickley, PA and Judy Verno (Chuck) of Washington, PA; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 10 to 11 a.m. at which time a funeral service will be held, in the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA 15314. Following the services a funeral luncheon will be held in Chip's honor immediately following the services in the St. Katharine Drexel Parish Knights of Columbus Hall 208 Abromaitis St. Bentleyville.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to The Cure Starts Now, 10280 Chester Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45215 (benefits Pediatric Cancer). An online guestbook is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com.
