Obituary

Barbara "Barb" Dorich Miller, 90, a lifelong resident of Vestaburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, surrounded by love.  Born on June 13, 1935, Barb was the beloved wife of the late John V. "Daggy" Miller, who preceded her in death on April 21, 1996.

Barb was a devoted homemaker and the heart of her family.  She is survived by her three sons: Randy (Denise) of Estero, FL; Danny (Natalie) of Fredericktown; and Mark (Tina) of Clarksville.  She was a proud and playful grandmother to Tyler (Megan), Zach (Julie), and Griffin; and a great-grandmother to Mackinsley.  She was affectionately known as "Bubba" or "Bubs."

Barb's love for her community was evident in every aspect of her life.  She had a deep affection for animals, was known for her famous rum cake, and possessed a warm, welcoming presence that made everyone feel like family.  Fondly known by many children as the "sucker lady," she was rarely without a lollipop to share - a simple gesture that brought joy to countless young faces.  She found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones, sharing stories and laughter.  Among her favorite traditions were her Friday lunches, which she enjoyed for many years with her lifelong best friend, Cindy Giles.

Her passion for fitness was legendary.  Up until the COVID-19 pandemic, she was a familiar face on the Greene River Trail, walking with purpose and pride.  In the 1980s, she helped manage the Continental Nautilus and Racquetball Club in Vestaburg, where she inspired many with her dedication to health and wellness.

To say Barb had a vibrant spirit would be a huge understatement.  If you knew Barb, then you know she was ornery to the core, always ready with a quick wit, a mischievous grin, and a knack for stirring up laughter wherever she went.  She loved nothing more than partaking in a little harmless trouble if it meant bringing joy to others.

Barb was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been predeceased by her brother Robert Dorich and sisters Pearl Martin and Sylvia Ballas.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Tyffani Dingle and Kenya Gaymen, owners of Jennie's Personal Care Home, whose kindness and support over the past two years brought immense comfort and peace to Barb and her family.  Their warmth and dedication made Jennie's feel like an extension of home, and their love for Barb was evident in every interaction.  Deep appreciation is also extended to the staff at Jennie's for their exceptional care, compassion, and genuine affection.  Barb's vibrant spirit and ornery charm were not only welcomed but celebrated, and it was clear she brought as much joy to them as they did to her.  The family also wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice Care for their professional and compassionate support during Barb's final days.  The attentive care and gentle presence of each of the above-mentioned provided immeasurable comfort not only to Barb, but also to her family, especially in those final days.  Their kindness during those tender moments will forever be remembered with deep gratitude.

Barb's legacy of love, laughter, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
