Barbara Jean Santee Davis

Feb 26, 1945 — Sep 4, 2026

Barbara Jean Santee Davis, Age 81, passed away Sept. 4, 2026, in Port Charlotte Fl. At Fawcett Hospital due to a heart complication. Born February 26, 1945, to Paul Eugene Santee and Jean S. (Julius) Bartruff, in Brownsville, Pa.

She was a graduate of John A. Brashear Joint High School. "Grammar " loved to cook and bake for her family and extended families. Barbara could be generous to a fault. She was an avid Pinocle player and often we teased her by calling her "Lucy" when she played poker. This nickname came from Lucille Ball in her card shark persona. She was very competitive. Most of her life she served others, waitressing at Hugo's, in Brownsville, Pa. early on and then subsequently the Red Bull Inn in Washington, Pa. where she enjoyed meeting many local Pittsburgh athletes and celebrities, which solidified her love for the Pittsburgh teams. Go Steelers! She and her husband then created, owned and operated "Gifts of Time" where for more than thirty years they manufactured and sold various clocks. Simultaneously they bought and sold various antiques and collectibles. Most noted were early earthenware, quilts, museum quality ships and Roseville garnering quite a collection and knowledge. The auctions of Southwestern Pennsylvania and Ohio Valley were scavenged regularly for the newest oldest find. It was a great sense of pride being consulted by their peers about the history and value of such items.

She is survived by her daughter Diana (Mike) Gillis, three grandsons: Michael (Susan) Lapham, Port Charlotte, Aaron (Kristin) Lapham, Bellevue, Matthew Lapham, Punta Gorda: 3 great grandchildren: Christina Lapham, Aaron Lapham Jr. And Greyson Lapham. She is preceded in death by both parents and her husband of fifty years Samuel Nelson Davis of Brownsville Pa.
