Obituary

Allen Ray Lynch Sr, 79, of Brownsville, PA (Centerville Borough) passed away on March 26 2025 in the Jefferson Hospital after a long time battle with illness.

Allen was born on October 11, 1945 a son of the late Albert and Mabel Hines Lynch.  He  was a 1963 graduate of the Beth Center High School.  Following graduation, he was enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 19, 1963 and served for 3 years until July of 1966.  He was promoted to Sgt. (E-5) while serving in Vietnam on August 18, 1965.  He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service medal and the Air Medal (x2).   Allen received the Air Medal for actively participating in 25 aerial missions over hostile territory in support of counter insurgency operations.

Mr. Lynch was proud to be a hardworking Coal Miner and  was employed by Clyde Mines for over 20 years.  He was also a member of the Local 688 Union and the U.M.W.A.

He was Catholic by faith, and in his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and most of all his greatest joy were his grandchildren.

On October 31, 1966 he married his wife Jacqueline Kurtz Lynch who survives.  They cherished 58 years of marriage.

He also leaves behind four children William Lynch (Linda) of Salem, OH, Tracy Corrick of Bentleyville, PA, Colleen Yanosky (Lance) of Centerville, PA, and Allen Lynch Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are five siblings Catherine, Audrey, Dave, Johnny, and William.

At Allens request, all Funeral Services are private and have been entrusted to the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd.  2830 Main Street Beallsville, PA.   In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to John Jacksons Fundraising Page at Action.Lung.org   Inurnment will be held at LaFayette Memorial Park.
