Agnes M. "Aggie" Schrader passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in her home.

Aggie was born June 21, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY one of nine children of the late Joseph A. and Katherine Quigney Rehnberg.

After the passing of her father in 1940, all the Rehnberg children who were old enough got jobs to help support their mother and younger siblings.

When she was seventeen, Aggie worked in NY City for Grolier Encyclopedias.

It was New Year's Eve 1943 when she met a handsome sailor, Byron E. Schrader, who was on leave from WW II. They would correspond by mail for a year before marrying January 16, 1945. The couple moved to Eighty Four and spent the next 58 years in this area before Byron's passing on January 24, 2003.

Byron and Aggie raised seven children together in a home filled with love, laughter and a lot of good food, most of which they grew themselves. Aggie canned hundreds of jars of vegetables every year. She was a great baker too and turned out homemade bread, buns and pies a few times a week.

She enjoyed bowling on the Route 19 Lanes Thursday morning Ladies League for 40 years. Aggie loved a good baseball game and often had music playing in her kitchen. Always smiling and pleasant will be how she is remembered by those who knew and loved her. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren was a joy to her. Aggie was always ready for a game of Scrabble or to read a good book.

She was a Girl Scout leader and taught fire safety at Girl Scout camp.

Camping was something she and Byron enjoyed together. After his retirement they bought a camp in Dubois at Treasure Lake.

A devout Catholic, Aggie attended St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Bentleyville.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth Schrader (Mariko) of Virginia Beach, VA; four daughters, Virginia Rogers (Jeff) of Mt. Lebanon, PA, Janice Pennell (Fred) of Counce, TN, Karen Sprowls (Bill) of Scenery Hill, PA and Catherine Glad of Masontown, PA; a daughter in law, Joyce Schrader of Washington, PA; a brother Jack Rehnberg (Cathy) of Hamden, CT;  Goddaughter Danielle Hulsey; special nephew and niece Dale and Alicia Gardella; special great nephew Marty Forsythe and many nieces and nephews. Agnes is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, Eric and Ken Schrader, William Tremel, Stacey Steckler, Sharon Schultz, Margaret Schwichow, Kenneth Rogers, Ronnie and Larry Pennell, Grace Ferrara, Jody, Greg and Katie Sprowls, Jennifer, Jeremiah and Veronica Glad and twenty eight great grandchildren.

Deceased in addition to her husband are a son Byron E. Schrader Jr; a daughter Patricia A. Tremel, two sons in law William Tremel and Bernard Glad, a grandson Shawn Schrader, three brothers Joseph, James and Thomas Rehnberg; four sisters Virginia Tolbert, Beatta Ufier, Maureen Gardella and Ann Rice.

Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA where Prayers will be offered Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Katharine Drexel Parish Bentleyville Campus with Rev. Edward L. Yuhas officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery Marianna, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Katharine Drexel Parish or the Washington City Mission.
